If you are looking for information about our reading room and research facilities please click here.
Public transport
Take the exit Centrumzijde at the Central Station Utrecht. Get on the bus Nr. 2 at platform A2. Exit the bus at the stop Domplein or Catharijneconvent. From here it is a 5 minutes walk to the EXPO. Plan your route at 9292.
By car
The historic city centre of Utrecht is difficult to reach by car, and there is no parking available near the museum. We strongly recommend using public transport.
If you do choose to travel by car, follow the parking route signs (P) to Parking Garage Springweg (use Strosteeg 83, Utrecht in your navigation app) or Parking Garage Kruisstraat. Both garages are approximately a 10-minute walk from the museum.
By bicycle
Utrecht is a perfect city to explore by bicycle. You can rent a bicycle at one of the many rentals in the city, for example Bike rental Laag Catharijne or Renting an OV-fiets.
Accessibility
We aim to be open and accessible to all visitors, and we hope the information below will help you plan your visit to the EXPO.
The location is accessible for visitors with disabilities. If you need any assistance or if the main entrance presents an accessibility challenge, please don’t hesitate to let our staff know — we’re happy to help. Feel free to contact us in advance so we can be ready to assist you upon arrival.
Please note: the main entrance of the museum is only accessible via stairs. Visitors using a wheelchair are kindly requested to use the entrance at Restaurant De Rechtbank, located at Korte Nieuwstraat 14. The staff of the hotel and restaurant will be available to assist you.
Inside the museum, an elevator provides access to the exhibition rooms located downstairs. The (accessible) toilets are also on the lower level and can be reached by elevator. Most areas in the building are wheelchair accessible.
Assistance dogs and guide dogs are welcome.
